I'm a certified personal trainer, nutrition coach, and behavior change specialist - and before I was any of those things, I was someone who took fitness way too far.
I was obsessed. Not in an inspiring way. In a way that ruined my life.
I counted every calorie. I avoided restaurants and social events like the plague. I brought my own food everywhere I went because a was scared that anything I didn't cook would make me fat.
I would exercise for hours every single day as a way to punish myself.
On the outside, I looked disciplined and "healthy."
But on the inside, i was isolated, exhausted, and deeply unhappy.
That obsession (which I now know was orthorexia) cost me relationships, joy, and years of my life.
My turning point came when I finally stopped chasing perfection and started building something sustainable
I rebuilt my relationship with food and exercise from the ground up. And I discovered something that changed everything for me.
